Bees sting the blues

A good all round performance from the Bees today. Everybody played their part today and gave 100% effort. Our keeper wasn’t troubled at all through out the game which is a compliment to the whole side. They did have a good chance to draw level but fluffed their chance.

We got off to a great start when Rabbit coolly slotted the ball under Wollo keeper Turner. (0-1 after 10 minutes)

The blues enjoyed a lot of ball but failed miserably in the last third. A rare excursion into our box did create a little panic and their forward was brought down for a definite penalty. They crashed the ball against the upright it came back to the same player who tried to score again but was pulled up by the ref. 2 minutes later and Matrix broke free again but this time Rabbit couldn’t find the back of the net. The Bees continued to take charge of the midfield and its from here we doubled our tally. Wheat picked up the ball some 40 yards out, saw the keeper off his line and let fly with a beauty into the top corner. (0-2 after 36 minutes)

The second half Wollo stepped up their game and although they had more possession they still looked lightweight in the last third mainly due to smith Woodward and new boy Stevenson at the back. We had a few chances to increase our lead but was unable to convert our chances.

Well done men, continue to work on possession in midfield and stop looking for the quick fix. Patience.
