First Half Blues This fixture had a lot of promise but the only team that turned up for kick off was the Albion. Our midfield saw enough of the ball but just could not keep hold of possession, it was almost like playing against 12. The defence looked very shaky and our keeper looked like he didn’t want to know.
Albion hit the post in the first 5 minutes waking the Bees out of a deep sleep. Just after we had a great chance to take the lead when a thru ball from the hard working Palmer found Brown 1 on 1 with Santiago but a bad touch gave the keeper an easy pick up.
Albion got a indirect free kick 25 yards out. The kick was sent to the far post to what should have been a simple clearance but McGinty rose to meet the ball almost unchallenged to nod the ball past a lack luster back line. (0–1 after 15 minutes).
Just 10 minutes later and the ball was in the net again when a freak clearance hit a Albion player bang on the head and it flew in but the ref blew up and disallowed the goal. Both Buck and Brown worked hard to get on level terms and was unlucky when Brown crashed the ball against the upright. Albion doubled their lead on the stroke of half time when an almost identical free kick found the same player out jump 2 matrix players and nod it past a static Palethorpe from 3 yards. (0–2 after 45 minutesn)
The same line up came out for the second half but didn’t look capable of breaking the stubborn Albion defence so changes was made. Bell came on in the center and Shaw came on up front to liven the attack. Both players played well but we still could.nt find the net. Macca came on for the last 15 and we started to create. It was he that set up Farmery who side footed past ex Bee Santiago. (1-2 after 87 minutes)
A better performance second half but the goal came just a few minutes too late We spoke after the game and I’m sure everybody now understands what is wanted from the whole squad.
Don’t be late Tuesday
